NRD’s Offering Payment for Reduction in Synthetic Nitrogen Use
Corn and potato producers willing to reduce their 2025 synthetic nitrogen application by 15% or >40 lbs. are eligible for a cash payment of up to $15/acre. Payment amount will be based on the producer’s water quality management area. Reduction can be achieved through biologicals (Pivot Bio), nitrogen stabilizers, application efficiency, or a reduced application. Producers must be able to prove a reduction from previous years’ applications.
Applications for each field must be completed and submitted to your local NRD by January 15th, 2025.
