At the June 8, 2015 Middle Niobrara Natural Resources District Board of Director's Meeting, the Board     approved a 6-month Temporary Stay on the addition of new groundwater irrigated acres, in compliance with Neb. Rev. Stat. 46-707(2).  The Board also requested that the Nebraska Department of Natural          Resources implement a similar 6-month Stay on new surface water irrigated acres. These temporary          Stays went into effect on June 29, 2015.  During the 6-month Stays, the MNNRD and NDNR will hold a        joint public hearing to take comments on future use of ground and surface water within the MNNRD.        If you have questions about the Stays please contact the MNNRD office at 402-376-3241.

COST-SHARE SIGN-UP

 

Middle Niobrara NRD is now accepting cost-share applications for NSWCP practices. Cost-share funds are available for windbreak plantings, cross fencing, non-replacement wells and tanks, pipelines, dams, and other conservation measures that you might want to implement on your property. A ranking system will be used to prioritize applications. Applications will be accepted until May 31, 2015. Please contact the NRD office or your local NRCS office for more information.
